Il turno (The Shift)

Anna and Lucia, two young women in their twenties, one from Italy and one from Nigeria, work as caregivers of Mrs. Maria, a bedridden elderly woman. They meet only during the shift change, but their differences erupt daily, damaging one another and their position in the world. Official selection at Biennale di Venezia 2021 (Orizzonti).

Anna moves back to Genova. In her hometown, she meets by chance an old friend who invites her to a party. There, she meets Sofia, her former best friend. This meeting brings out a sense of intimacy, but also unspoken and unresolved truths.
